Mechanicville stays in Colonial Council title chase

Mechanicville defeats Cobleskill-Richmondville to remain in second place in Colonial Council boys' b

Mechanicville, in contention for the Colonial Council boys' basketball title, cruised to a 57-42 victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville tonight and remained alone in second place with a 9-2 record, trailing only Albany Academy.

The Red Raiders, 13-2 overall, led from the start and enjoyed a 40-17 halftime advantage until the Bulldogs crept closer in the third quarter, 49-34.

Paul McMillan scored all 14 of his points in the first half for Mechanicville, which also got 12 from Nick Lettrick and 11 from Chris Grayson. Kyle Butler netted 12, and K.J. VanDerwerken 11 for Cobleskill-Richmondville.
