Cameron Couball scored 26 points, and streaking Mohonasen took over first place in the Suburban Council White Div­ision on Sunday by beating Saratoga Springs, 55-49, in a boys’ basketball game played at Siena College as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament.

The Mighty Warriors (6-4 SC,

9-5 overall) have won eight straight. They have a one-game lead over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Niskayuna.

Tony Deloatch led Saratoga Springs with 17 points.

In a non-league game played in the tournament, Peekskill (15-0) remained undefeated by edging Albany Academy, 62-58.

Track and field

Thanks to a victory in the Yale Invitational Saturday, Scotia-Glenville senior Jillian King was one of three Section II stars named to run in the invitational high school girls’ mile Feb. 1 in the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden.

Also receiving invitations were seniors Hannah Davidson of Sar-atoga Springs, and Caitlin Lane of Greenwich. There will be 10 girls toeing the line on the banked-board track in the Garden.

King, who ran a 4:53.84 at Yale, follows her sister Caroline in the Millrose field. Caroline ran fifth last year, and is now a freshman at Boston College.

Davidson’s qualifying effort was a 4:55.05 victory in the Stanner Games at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York, while Lane punched her ticket with a 4:55.25 victory in the Dartmouth Relays.

Lane will tune up with another invitational mile this Saturday in the Reebok Boston Indoor Games at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Hockey

Sophomore Zach Popp scored at 3:15 of overtime as Albany Academy beat Pomfret (Conn.), 6-5, Saturday in the Western New England Prep School League.
