A New Scotland woman was ticketed on a drunken-driving charge after the vehicle she was driving was struck by a CSX train early this morning, according to state police.
Troopers said Tina M. Crosby, 44, of Font Grove Road, was crossing the CSX tracks on New Scotland South Road when her 1999 Jeep was struck by a train. The crossing arm and warning lights were operational, troopers said, and the vehicle struck and damaged the crossing arm just prior to being struck by the train.
Troopers said Crosby had been drinking earlier in the evening and was charged with driving while intoxicated. Although Crosby did not appear to be injured, she was taken to St. Peter's Hospital in Albany as a precaution, troopers said.
