Saratoga sex abuse probe nets second arrest

The investigation of allegations of sexual abuse that led to the arrest of a now-suspended Saratoga

The investigation of allegations of sexual abuse that led to the arrest of a now-suspended Saratoga Springs City School District bus driver has led to a second arrest, city police said Friday night.

James E. Wiley, 60, of 151 Jefferson St., was charged Friday night with felony third-degree criminal sex act for an incident involving a juvenile who knew Wiley, police said. Police offer no additional details of the crime.

Wiley's arrest comes two days after Douglas Conrad, who had been working as a bus driver for the city school district, was charged with two misdemeanor counts involving allegations he fondled two teenage boys in his apartment. Television station WNYT (NewsChannel 13) is reporting that Wiley is Conrad's uncle and roommate, but police would not confirm that information.

Wiley was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Saratoga County jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

The investigation into both men is continuing, police said, and investigators are continuing to seek the public’s assistance in identifying other potential victims.
