Man hit by car after shots fired in Schenectady

Schenectady police are investigating another reported shooting in Hamilton Hill this afternoon.

City police are investigating another reported shooting in Hamilton Hill this afternoon.

Police and emergency medical staff were called about 1:15 p.m. to Grant Avenue near the intersection with Hulett Street. Witnesses said they observed two people fighting on Hulett Street, then heard as many as eight shots ring out soon after the two ran onto Grant Avenue.

A man was injured, but police said he was hit by a car and not shot. Police said he was conscious as we was taken from the scene in an ambulance.

Police had put out an alert for the car involved and said that car has been located. Police are not identifying the injured man or the driver of the car and did not say if the car was also involved in the shooting.
