The Albany River Rats drop Game 7 of their AHL playoff series, 2-0.

The Albany River Rats were eliminated from the Calder Cup playoffs tonight, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Philadephia Phantoms in Game 7 of their first-round series at the Wachovic Center.

Stefan Ruzicka collected a goal with 22 seconds elapsed, and that score held up until Ryan Potulny got the icing goal with 1:27 remaining. Potulny also scored the game-winner in the Phantoms' five-overtime win over the Rats last week.

Albany, which was held to 21 shots on goal, battled back from a 3-2 series deficit with a win on Saturday to force the deciding Game 7. It was the second straight year the Rats were ousted in the first round of the playoffs.
