Saratoga Springs’ native Dottie Pepper, a former LPGA standout who is now a golf TV commentator, was elected to the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame recently.

Pepper, who won 17 times on the LPGA Tour, graduated from Furman University

CHIP SHOTS

u Fox Run Golf Club will hold a local qualifier for the RSM McGladrey PGA Team Championship June 11 at 10 a.m. The format will be be a three-person, one low net ball tournament. Winners will join Fox Run head pro/general manager Rich Scott at Ballston Spa Country Club for a four-person, two low net ball tournament, with the winners advancing to Pinehurst. u The second annual Adult/Child Golf Tournament in support of the Ballston Spa High School golf team will be played June 14 at Ballston Spa Country Club at 2 p.m. The entry fee for the nine-hole alternate-shot event with one adult and one junior player will be $50. HOLES-IN-ONE

Four players collected holes-in-one at Whispering Pines Golf Course. Joan Molloy used a 7-iron on the 80-yard 16th hole, Tom Rossi holed out with a 5-iron on the

170-yard 15th, Linda Housell hit a driver on the 175-yard 12th and Kyle Armstrong swung a 7-iron on the 15th.

At The Edison Club, Kevin Cummings used an 8-iron to ace the

123-yard eighth hole.

Chris Patregnanis used a 6-iron to ace the 162-yard 11th hole at Saratoga Spa State Park.

Paul Galarneau sank a wedge shot for an ace on the sixth at Orchard Creek.

Gail Senecal holed out with a

9-iron on the 120-yard 13th at the Port Charlotte Golf Club in Florida.

At Eagle Crest, Ed Lefebvre found the cup with an 8-iron on the 134-yard third hole.

David Suozzo posted a hole-in-one on the 150-yard 12th hole at

Albany Country Club with a

5-iron.

There were two holes-in-one at Schenectady Municipal. Jim Burg used an 8-iron on the sixth hole, and Mel Stinzianni sank a 6-iron from 140 yards on the third.

Colin Brown aced the 160-yard sixth hole on the red nine at Van Patten. He used a 9-iron.

At Van Schaick Island Country Club, Joan VanSlyke holed out with a 15-wood on the 112-yard sixth hole.

Nick Osowicki’s wedge shot found the cup on the 140-yard 16th hole at Amsterdam Municipal.

Bill Harkins recorded a hole-in-one with a sand wedge on the

110-yard fifth hole on the white nine at Western Turnpike.

EAGLES

Three eagles were recorded on the same hole on the same day at Mechanicville Golf Club. Posting eagles on the par-5 eighth hole were Gary O’Connor, Chuck DeVito Jr. and Mike DiDomenico.

Mike Young (first hole), Steve Brown (fifth hole), Mike Demars (fifth hole) and Chris Mathewson (10th hole) carded eagles at Amsterdam Municipal.

Nancy Vaccaro eagled the 15th hole at Briar Creek. Also at Briar Creek, Tom Hefferon eagled the sixth and 15th holes.

Joe Winter eagled the 12th hole at The Edison Club.

Dan Powers eagled the par-5 eighth at Airway Meadows.
