One lane on the eastbound side of the Thruway is shut down this week as crews repair damage caused by last month’s flooding.
New York State Thruway Authority maintenance crews began Monday repairing the shoulder of the right lane on Interstate 90 between Exit 26 outside Schenectady and Exit 27 at Amsterdam. Thruway officials say the lane will be closed around-the-clock until noon Friday.
Flooding caused by heavy rains July 23 forced state police to shut down all lanes of that stretch of the highway for several hours.
The authority has activated roadside message signs to alert eastbound motorists of the lane closure.
