A man was accused Tuesday night by city police of firing a shotgun at a group standing outside his house.
Police said Robert Richburg, 31 of 58 Swinton St., fired one shot from a 16-gauge shotgun in the direction of a 12-year-old boy, an 18-year-old boy and girl and a 19-year-old girl about 8 p.m., police said, then got into his Jeep and drove off. Police said the motive appears to have been a prior confrontation with kids in the neighborhood.
Richburg was stopped by officers on Livingston Avenue, police said, and a shotgun shell was found inside his car. Police subsequently obtained a search warrant for his house and found the shotgun and an electronic stun gun.
Richburg was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in city Criminal Court this morning.
