The State Police bomb disposal unit was called to Round Lake this morning to remove a pair of World War II-era grenades.
Saratoga County Sheriff's deputies said they were called to the Saratoga Avenue home shortly before 9 a.m. when the grenades were discovered in a closet in the house.
"The grenades apparently had been brought into the residence many years ago by their father, who was a marine in World War II," according to Sgt. Richard Washburn.
The grenades were determined to be live and were removed by the bomb squad without incident, he said.
