An Albany man is headed to prison for up to 18 years for shaking his infant son to death.

Gregory Milgo, 29, was charged with murder after his 4-month-old son Vincent died from brain injuries suffered during repeated, vigorous shakings in May.

The baby, born three months premature, was found critically injured after Milgo called emergency crews May 13 to report the child had stopped breathing.

Authorities say the baby’s mother — 21-year-old Sasha Poole — failed to get prompt medical attention.

Milgo pleaded guilty to manslaughter in October and was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison and five years of probation.

Poole pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and will be sentenced to five years of probation.
