Three preschoolers spent several hours stranded along a remote road after the van taking them home got stuck in deep snow.
State police, Rensselaer County sheriff’s deputies and parents of the three young children on board the transport van launched a search Thursday afternoon after the vehicle was reported missing.
The children and the driver were missing for several hours until a snowmobiler found the van around 7 p.m. along a seasonal road. The van had slid off a road in a hilly area near the Massachusetts border where there was no cell phone service.
The driver had the van’s engine running and the heat on. Neither the driver nor the children were hurt.
Troopers say more information on the incident will be released this morning.
