Lady Bills close in on Foothills Council title

Hillary Kollar’s 10 points led a balanced attack, as Johnstown downed Queensbury, 45-30, Friday night to clinch at least a tie for the Foothills Council title.

Kendra Cooper added nine points, and both Gretchen Derwin and Rebecca Kosowicz had eight as the Lady Bills improoved to 11-1 with a pair of league games remaining.

South Glens Falls remained two games back of Johnstown with a 47-32 victory over Broadalbin-Perth, as Chelsea Carruthers hit for 15 points. Avery Light finished with 14 points for the Patriots.

Nicole Webber had 11 points, and Kaitlin Clemente added 10, as Gloversville trimmed Hudson Falls, 64-55; and Glens Falls got 18 points from Sarah Mason in a 47-41 win over Scotia-Glenville, which got 13 points from Cassie Broadhead.

Shenendehowa’s Marissa Ray scored 12 points as the visiting 12-2 Plainsmen egded Averill Park, 41-39, in the Suburban Council.

Katie Duma fired in 17 points for the 9-5 Warriors.

Nicole Adach scored 24 points, putting her six shy of 1,000 for her career, as Mohonasen downed Ballston Spa, 72-38. Michelle Aviza added 16 points for the 11-2 Mighty Warriors.

Alaina Greco and Amanda Callahan both had 10 points for the Scotties.

Amie Jefferson had 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots as Colonie stopped Niskayuna, 55-42. Tehresa Coles added 12 points and 12 rebounds for 7-6 Colonie. Katherine Cocca and Kiersten Gray both had 10 for the 9-5 Silver Warriors.

Erin Kelly and Katherine Keegan teamed for 26 points as Guilderland stopped Shaker, 47-30; Jackie Osterdahl had 16 points in Columbia’s 39-18 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake; and Megan Olsen tossed in 15 to pace Bethlehem in a 49-32 win over Saratoga Springs.

Catholic Central held Amsterdam to 12 first-half points, and went on to beat the Rams, 58-32, in the Big 10.

Olivia DeMarco (14 points), Colleen Dignum (13), Carly LaBombard (12) and Maria Foglia (10) all were in double figures for the 6-4 Lady Crusaders.

Shannon Jones’ 11 points led Troy in a 53-18 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

Ariana Youngs had 14 second-half points as Lansingburgh took Schalmont, 50-35, in the Colonial Council.

Youngs finished with 17 points, with Chelsea Rebhun good for another 13 for the 13-3 Knights. Ashlene Potter had eight for the Sabres.

Sarah Goss and Elizabeth Madden combined for 37 points as 13-3 Voorheesville defeated Ravena- Coeymans-Selkirk, which got 20 points from Alivia Richter.

Nicole Manupella, Shannon McBride and Alysa Russell combined for 35 points in Mechanicville’s 55-52 overtime win at Cobleskill-Richmondville; and Ailayia Demand had 14 as Watervliet downed Albany Academy, 48-32.

Andrea VanDyke hit for 18 points, one of three Bulldogs in double figures, as 9-2 Berne-Knox-Westerlo downed Schenectady Christian School, 57-48, in the Western Athletic Conference.

Bethany Goodrich turned in a 14-point, 22-rebound game for the 5-5 Falcons.

Kaley Schelling had 18 points as Galway bested Northville, 53-33. Chelsea Paul had 23 points for the Falcons.

Lauren McGarry’s 13 points led the way as Duanesburg topped Middleburgh, 56-33.

Sarah Lamoureau dropped in 19 points as Schoharie got past Sharon Springs, 45-30.

Savannah White had 10 of her 14 points in the second half as Greenwich beat Schuylerville, 52-35, in Wasaren League play.

Brittany Smith’s 17 points led balanced Tamarac past Stillwater, 60-55, in another Wasaren contest. Kayla McNeil had 14 points for the Warriors.

Jackie Sussman’s 37-point effort in a 66-24 non-league win over Wells gave her a school-record 1,407 varsity total.
