Johnstown woman suffers leg injuries in truck mishap

A 74-year-old Johnstown woman is listed in serious condition at Albany Medical Center after a wheel

A 74-year-old city woman is listed in serious condition at Albany Medical Center after a wheel on a tractor-trailer ran over her leg Tuesday afternoon on West Main Street.

Barbara Streeter-Thompson of West Fourth Avenue was crossing West Main at Market Street, police said, when she walked around the truck as it turned from West Main onto South Market.

The driver of the truck, George C. McNeill, 45, of Lexington, S.C., did not see Streeter-Thompson, police said. No tickets were issued.

Police said Streeter-Thompson suffered serious leg injuries and was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center.
