Four nabbed in Amsterdam drug raid

Four people were arrested in Amsterdam today following a drug raid at 9 DeGraff St. and 11 William S

Four people were arrested in Amsterdam today following a drug raid at 9 DeGraff St. and 11 William St.

The arrests included:

-- Ada B. Oliveras-Cruz, 55, of 11 William St., on charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor.

-- Her son, Andre Cruz, 35, of the same address, on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor.

-- Ismael E. Valentine, 32, of 9 DeGraff St. on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

-- Richard L. Bedell, 20, of the same address, on charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony.

Police seized cocaine packaged for sale at the DeGraff Street residence and hypodermic needles and crack pipes at the William Street address.

All four were arraigned in front of Judge Howard Aison and were sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Assisting with the arrest and case was District Attorney Jed Conboy.

Involved in the arrests were the Montgomery County Task Force, including the Amsterdam Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police CNET.
