One man was injured this morning in a four-car accident near the Western Gateway Bridge, police said.
The injured man, identified as 59-year-old Gary Davis of Schenectady, was taken to the hospital with head and knee injuries. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, police spokesman Detective Kevin Green said.
The accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. near the pedestrian bridge at Schenectady County Community College.
One car, driven by Jose Baez Jr., 36, of Schenectady, was following too close and rear-ended the injured man's car, Green said. Another car hit Baez' car, with a fourth car hitting the third car.
Baez was ticketed for following too close. He was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.
No other tickets were issued.
