“Dreamgirls” at Cohoes Music Hall — Gorgeous costumes and fabulous choreography are C-R Productions’ specialty. Through Sept. 27.

“Moonlight and Magnolias” at The Theater Barn in New Lebanon — This play is hilarious theatrical fun about the making of “Gone With the Wind.” Through Sept. 27.

“Old Love” at Lake George Dinner Theatre — A new play by Norm Foster. Supremely funny, touching and meaningful. Through Oct. 12.

Capital Repertory Company in “The Seafarer” — A darkly humorous “Irish” play by Conor McPherson. Nominated for a Tony in 2007. Oct. 9-Nov. 14.

Schenectady Civic Players in “Rebecca” — Du Maurier adapted the play from her classic novel. Oct. 16-25.

And one to watch:

“Play by Play — Crossroads” at Proctors, Stageworks 13th annual festival of new one-acts — It’s always interesting to see what contemporary playwrights do with each year’s new theme. Oct. 14-18
