Gunman robs Albany bank, gets away with cash

The robber, who had a handgun, made off with cash, and police were trying to track him with a K-9.

City police are investigating a reported bank robbery that occurred within the hour at the SEFCU credit union at 388 Clinton Ave.

Police said the male suspect, who had a handgun, entered the bank at 2:15 p.m. wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and a black scarf over his face.

He held up one of the tellers and then left the bank on foot headed in an unknown direction. It was no immediately known how much cash he got.

Police said the man is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and of medium build.

A police dog was brought in to track from the entrance of the bank to side streets off Clinton, police said.

No one was injured in the robbery.
