Freshman Elizabeth Hackert of Ballston Spa ripped a two-out, two-run triple in the sixth inning to give the Union College softball team a 5-4 victory over SUNY-Oswego in the second game of a non-conference double-header Tuesday.

Nina Cervini of Mechanicville went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs to spark a 7-4 Union win in the first game.

Senior Ginni Sack of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake got her 11th win of the year in the second game, after Tiffany Ippoliti won the opener.

Union improved to 22-8 overall.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Sophomore Robin Allemand hit a pair of triples and drove in two runs to lead the Ephs to a non-conference win over the Dutchmen.

Unon (5-25) took a quick 2-0 lead on a two-run single by junior Anthony Cassesse in the top of the first, but Williams (20-9-1) took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning, using two Union errors and Allemand’s first triple to score four runs.

Senior Paul Mene added a double and a single for the Dutchmen.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Junior Dave Batchelder of Lansingburgh scattered five hits and struck out a career-high 10 as the Golden Knights blanked the Yellowjackets.

Nick Alexandrovich had a three-run double in the first inning for the Golden Knights (14-28, 8-15 Northeast-10), and Ryan Burke of LaSalle had a two-run single in the ninth.
