A Clifton Park man is being evaluated in a hospital after allegedly exhibiting bizarre behavior including stripping naked at the Albany International Airport this morning, according to police.
The Albany County Sheriff's Department said James M. Buccigrossi, 49, drove up to an exit lane at the airport's Parking Lot E at about 8:30 a.m. and told a ticket booth attendant he didn't have money to pay for his parking.
Immediately after that encounter, he left his car and ran to and jumped on an airport fire truck that was pulling into the lot to refuel.
Police said Buccigrossi said he was an air marshal and as he undressed, he told the firefighter there was a bomb in his 1993 BMW which was still blocking an exit to the lot.
Police were called and Buccigrossi was held as his car was searched. After it was determined there was no bomb, the car was removed and Buccigrossi was taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation.
Police said charges are pending and no air travel was interrupted by the incident.
