An early morning argument downtown erupted into a shooting, injuring one, police said.
A 26-year-old Schenectady man was shot in the thigh on State Street, opposite Bombers Burrito Bar, just before 1 a.m. this morning.
The victim and the suspect had been seen leaving Bombers. They also had an argument, police spokesman Sgt. Luciano Savoia said.
The man was shot shortly after the argument broke up, Savoia said. He was standing on the opposite side of the street with friends.
A few minutes later, the suspect pulled up in a vehicle and got out, it wasn’t clear if he was driving or was a passenger, Savoia said. The man retrieved a shotgun from the back seat, walked up and shot the victim, Savoia said.
The victim was taken to Ellis Hospital, then Albany Medical Center. His condition was unavailable.
No arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing, Savoia said.
