The last Skidmore College student arrested in an assault at Compton's Restaurant in Saratoga Springs last year has pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct and he has been ordered to pay $120 in fees to the Saratoga Springs City Court.
Sakhile Sithole , 20, a native of South Africa, is also to appear before the Skidmore College Integrity Board to answer for his involvement in the incident in which four black and Hispanic students were charged for an assault on a white man, Christopher McCarthy, shortly after 4:30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Broadway restaurant, according to Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy III.
Sithole's guilty plea was entered this morning in Saratoga Springs City Court.
Justin Tavarez, 19, of the Bronx, previously pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree assault, reduced from felony assault and hate crime charges.
Police said that he broke a dinner plate over McCarthy's head and the other three students punched and kicked the man, causing injuries that sent him to Saratoga Hospital for stitches and treatment. Tavarez will be sentenced April 5, according to court officials.
The victim agreed with the plea agreements with the four students, according to Murphy.
