A city man who was found lying in the street was in critical condition early this morning after being stabbed, said Capt. Donald VanDeusen of Gloversville police.
Police found the severely injured victim lying in Hamilton Street around midnight today after responding to a 911 call, VanDeusen said.
The 27-year-old man, whose name is not being released until family is notified of his condition, was transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital. Shortly after, he was flown to Albany Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery for the injuries he sustained.
"We have several leads that we're following at this time," VanDeusen said. "This investigation is still ongoing and in its infancy."
Police are asking that anyone with information contact the Gloversville Police Department at 773-4513 or 773-4506.
