A film crew followed a motorcycle behind the Trustco Bank at State Street and Brandywine Avenue as filming for the indie film "The Place Beyond the Pines" continued today. Actor Ryan Gosling appeared to be driving the cycle.
Three Schenectady streets were to be closed to vehicles and pedestrians today because of filming for the movie.
The closures will be in effect from 11 a.m. through 10 p.m.
State Street will be closed in both directions from McClellan Street through Swan Street. Detours will be in place, directing traffic north on McClellan Street or south on Kelton Avenue.
Albany Street will be closed in both directions from Kelton Avenue through Swan Street. Detours will direct traffic from Kelton Ave south to Duane Avenue and from Swan Street south on Backus Street to Duane Avenue.
Brandywine Avenue will be closed in both directions from Albany Street to Bradley Street. Detours will be in place directing northbound traffic either west on Emmett Street or east on Duane Avenue.
Southbound traffic will be sent east on Bradley Street.
The Traffic Services Bureau has already placed electronic message boards alerting the general public of these changes on the affected roadways. Police strongly encourage people to avoid traveling on these roads unless necessary and to plan for delays.
Also, the following CDTA routes have also been affected: the 905/355 eastbound and westbound and Route 352 southbound and northbound.
