Police in Schenectady say a woman in her 30s suffered severe injuries to her face, arms and legs when three pit bulls attacked her as she walked along a city street.
The woman remained hospitalized at Albany Medical Center Tuesday after the dogs chewed off both her ears in the attack at 12:30 a.m. Monday.
Police used a stun gun on one of the dogs and captured the other two using a snare pole. Police said the owner told them someone had opened the gate to the yard where the dogs had been confined. He’s not expected to face criminal charges but could receive citations.
The pit bulls were transported to Animal Protective Foundation in Scotia to be quarantined.
