A Staten Island man whose license had been suspended or revoked 29 times was convicted Thursday in Albany County Court of a felony driving offense and will be sentenced to state prison in October.
Robert T. Richards, 25, was convicted of aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; and speeding and driving with a defective brake light, both traffic infractions.
Richards was accused Dec. 12 pf driving a 2009 BMW with a broken taillight at 115 mph in a 65-mph zone on the state Thruway. A check revealed that his driver’s license had been suspended or revoked 29 times, with 27 scofflaws issued on 14 separate dates.
Richards faces 18 to 48 months when he goes before a judge Oct. 28. At the time, he will also be re-sentenced on two felony drug charges for which he is serving probation.
