Hudson Falls graduate Keven Donohue scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Union beat Hamilton,

SCHENECTADY — Hudson Falls graduate Keven Donohue scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Union beat Hamilton, 69-54, Tuesday in the championship game of the 27th annual Sig Makofski Invitational.

Donohue was named the tournament’s MVP. Terell Winney (Scotia-Glenville) added a career-high 21 points for the 7-1 Dutchmen, who won their seventh consecutive game. Rusmir Dzanko scored 11 points.

The Continentals (10-3) were led by Pat Sullivan’s 11 points. He and teammate Greg Newton joined Donohue and Winney on the all-tournament team. Matt Grossbard of Roger Williams and Dave Foltz of Wells also received the honor.

Roger Williams beat Wells, 66-59, in the consolation game.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Saint Anselm hit 23 of 29 free throws and got balanced scoring from its starting five, led by Roy Mabrey’s 13 points.

Jack Keough added 12 points for the Hawks (1-6 Northeast-10, 3-8 overall), and Dino Mallios and Allen Harris both had 11.

The Golden Knights (1-7, 1-11) got 20 points and nine rebounds from Andre Pope, while Dominykas Milka turned in a double-double of 15 points and 12 boards.

TROY — Ryan Sharry scored a career-high 41 points in 33 minutes, hitting 19 of 23 shots (82.6 percent), to lead 10-0 Middlebury to the win.

Dylan Sinnickson added 15 points in the victory, and Peter Lynch had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (3-5) got 21 points from Matthew Pooley. Brendan Farley added 17 points, Nate Fiala 13 and Jamie

Zajac 12. Daniel Martin just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

14-0 run midway through the second half lifted Saint Anselm out of a nine-point hole and on to victory.

Saint Rose (5-3 Northeast-10, 8-4 overall) was led by Ashley Rath’s 11 points. Ali Johnson added seven points and nine rebounds.

Saint Anselm (3-4, 9-4) got 10 points from both Epiphany Smith and Tori Lehr. Curran Leighton grabbed 14 rebounds to help the Hawks outrebound the Golden Knights, 43-27.
