Defense and an individual milestone highlighted play Tuesday night in Suburban Council girls’ basketball.

Shenendehowa, Colonie, Averill Park and Columbia all held their respective opponents scoreless for one quarter in picking up easy wins, and Shaker’s Lauren Woods went over the 1,000-point mark in her varsity career as the Blue Bison remained unbeaten.

Shenendehowa jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter and rolled past Bethlehem, 62-29. Eleven players scored for the 6-0 Lady Plainsmen, led by the trio of Emily Weber, Alyx Gleason and Ali Lewis with nine points each.

Colonie blanked host Saratoga Springs in the second quarter, taking a 21-9 lead into the half and finishing with a 48-32 victory. Jaclyn Welch had 16 points, and both Sydnie Rosales and Kawandi Young added 11 for 5-1 Colonie. Heather Lewis and Emily Pertruccione split 18 points for 1-5 Saratoga.

Averill Park grabbed a 30-2 halftime lead at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake en route to a 57-14 victory. Bridget Carney’s 14 points led the 4-2 Lady Warriors.

Columbia blanked Niskayuna in the second quarter of its 34-22 win, and used a 13-point night from Amanda Batzold to get to 4-2. Kayla Treanor’s 12 points led the 0-6 Lady Warriors.

Woods scored 11 of her game-high 20 points in the third period, getting her to 1,000 points as 6-0 Shaker beat Guilderland, 65-31. Madison Rowland chipped in with another 19 points for the winners.

Geena Gallo had 14 points as 2-4 Ballston Spa beat 2-4 Mohonasen, 47-42. Sam Hall’s 15 points led Mohonasen.

COLONIAL COUNCIL

Division leaders Watervliet, Holy Names and Ravena-Coeymans-Sekiirk all picked up wins.

Ailayia Demand had a game-high 20 points for Liberty Division leader Watervliet (6-0) in a 77-38 victory at Mechanicville. Alysa Chartrand (11 points), Beatrice Lease (10) and Mikayla DeGuire (10) also hit double figures. Amber Maiello had eight points for 2-4 Mechanicville.

Hannah Friend and Mary Kate Murray teamed for 29 points as Patriot Division co-leader Holy Names got to 5-1 with a 55-23 success against Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Ravena kept pace atop the Patriot with a 62-36 home win against 2-4 Schalmont, as Sam Randio scored 20 points. Jessica Bellai’s 14 points led Schalmont.

Voorheesville got to 5-1 as the Blackbirds chase Watervliet, with Sarah Madden’s 11 points leading a balanced attack in a 51-28 victory at Lansingburgh.

Alicia Razanousky, Monica Hall and Chrissy James teamed for 39 points as Ichabod Crane got past Fonda-Fultonville, 56-46. Emily Frollo had 15 points for Fonda.

WAC

Mackenzie Stahler fired in 20 points, half from the foul line, as Canajoharie beat St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah, 47-30, to go to 6-0 in league play.

Alicia Stein added 13 points for the Lady Cougars. Emily Chrisman had 11 points and 12 rebounds for St. JOE.

Lyndsey Wadsworth scored 11 points, and Allison Wadsworth added 10 as Northville downed Mayfield, 38-29. Killiam Horney and Nicole Little split 20 points for the Lady Panthers.

Haley Kilmartin dropped in 21 points to lead Fort Plain past Sar­atoga Central Catholic, 47-22.

PATROON CONFERENCE

Maple Hill went to 7-0, 8-1, with a 47-8 win over Coxsackie-Athens, the fifth time the Lady Wildcats have held an opponent under 20 points this season.

NON-LEAGUE

Cassie Broadhead scored 13 points, and Monica Compton added 10 as 5-2 Scotia-Glenville edged Hoosic Valley, 37-30, in a matchup of league leaders. Scotia sits atop the Foothills Council, while Hoosic Valley leads the Wasaren League.

Kiana Patterson scored 18 points, and Mary Pattison added 14, as 7-2 Troy overwhelmed Queensbury, 70-34.

Kaitlin Wood had 18 points and Katie Herba got 14 as Broadalbin-Perth shut down Middleburgh, 44-26. Katie Marotta led the Lady Knights with 12 points.
