Collin Stewart turned in a double-double of 26 points and a career-high 25 rebounds, along with five blocked shots, to help Mekeel Christian Academy’s boys’ basketball team to an 88-71 Western Athletic Conference win over Schoharie on Wednesday.

His brother, Caleb Stewart, scored 25 points, and Courtney Penson scored 17 for the Lions (9-0 WAC, 14-0 overall).

Schoharie got 31 points from T.J. Smith.

Dylan Toscano’s 29 points, 21 of which came in the first half, led 6-5, 9-6 Mayfield to a 64-49 win over Northville.

The Falcons (1-10, 2-13) got 17 points from Jim Grega.

Brett Ullman scored 35 points to lead Sharon Springs to a 51-35 win over Middleburgh.

Jared Boyles scored 11 points for the Knights (6-8).

Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Garrett Pitcher scored 16 points in a 75-36 win over Duanesburg.

The 1-8, 5-10 Eagles were led by Adam Fiacco with 12 points.

Tyler Englert scored 15 points as Saratoga Catholic handed Fort Plain its second WAC loss of the seaosn, 58-46.

Ryan Czarnecki scored 14 points for Spa Catholic (7-4, 8-6).

Harold Dettmer led the Hilltoppers (8-2) with 14 points.

Canajoharie’s Ryan Hodge scored 18 points in a 51-40 win over St. Johnsville.

The 4-7, 5-10 Saints got 12 points from Alex Hart.

Argyle got 37 points from Joey Lufkin in a 99-42 Adirondack League win over Whitehall. Josh Horton added 25 points and eight assists for 12-1, 13-1 Argyle.

Whitehall’s Josh Hoagland had 18 points.

Lake George (12-0, 12-1) remained unbeaten in the Adirondack League with a 55-43 win over Corinth, led by Ethan Wincowski’s 18 points. Corinth (4-8, 4-9) was led by Alex Robarge with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

In the Central Hudson Valley League, Christian Peterson’s 24 points led Hawthorne Valley past New Lebanon, 55-32.

New Lebanon was led by Zack Krajkowski with 13 points.

Waterford-Halfmoon’s Jeff Carr scored 20 points to lead the Fordians to a 59-28 win over Germantown. Steve Frattinani added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the 10-1, 11-4 Fordians.

Girls’ basketball

Linnett leads Greenwich

Mariah Linnett scored 24 points to lead Greenwich to a 71-63 Wasaren League win over Cambridge, earning a one-game lead on the Indians (7-4 league, 10-5 overall) in the league standings.

The Witches (8-3, 11-4) also got 20 points from the league’s No. 2 scorer, Dani DeGregory, who also had nine rebounds and eight assists. League-leader Molly Lauver netted 26 for Cambridge.

Hoosick Falls edged past Stillwater, 41-38, with 11 points from both Franie Pearson and Olivia Schneider. Stillwater was led by Jacey Hill with 14 points.

Maple Hill’s defense clamped down to beat Cairo-Durham, 43-11, in Patroon Conference action, allowing three points in the second half.

Chelsea Mannion led the offense with 16 points, moving Maple Hill to 13-0 in the league and 14-1 overall.

In the Central Hudson Valley League, Loudonville Christian topped Doane Stuart, 59-25, getting 16 points from Cassidy Allen.

Doane Stuart was led by Lily Kitlar with six points.

Eighth-ranked Albany Academy beat South Kent, 4-3, with a goal and an assist from both Derek Barach and Tyler Hynes. Jake Marrello and Tyler Wilmot also scored for Academy (17-4-0), and goalie Alec Mansfield made 35 saves.

LaSalle Institute edged Guilderland/Mohonasen, 3-2, in a Cap-ital District High School Hockey League contest. Anthony DeMarte scored twice in the win, and both Matt Wagner and Mason Goss had a goal and an assist.

The Dutch Warriors got a goal and an assist from both Shane Shields and Casey Trejo, and Aaron Hull had three assists.
