--Saratoga Springs soul-rockers Wild Adriatic will head to Albany on Friday, headlining an all-local bill at Jillian’s that also features The City Never Sleeps and Heart Foundation. The four-piece combines sinewy classic rock riffs with frontman Travis Gray’s vocal acrobatics to create an energetic, modern indie sound. Their new EP, “Lock & Key,” drops April 27, but this is a good chance to check out the new songs before they’re released. The show starts at 8. Call 432-1997 for more information.
--Modern country-blues heavyweight (and Albany resident) Rory Block is playing close to home this weekend, with an intimate show set for Sunday night at 7 at Caffe Lena. Block’s most recent albums have found her delving deep into the traditions that made her career — her 2011 release “Shake ‘Em on Down” pays tribute to one of her biggest influences, Mississippi Fred McDowell. $30 (doors); $28 (advance).
