A brief ceremony was held this morning outside Messa Rink on the Union College campus as the men's hockey team prepared to leave for the NCAA Frozen Four Men's Division I Hockey Championships in Tampa, Fla.
Coach Rick Bennett was among those to say a few words as a crowd wished the Dutchmen good luck in their game Thursday afternoon against Ferris State University of Grand Rapids, Mich.
The winner of that game will face the winner of the Thursday night matchup between Boston College and the University of Minnesota. The championship game will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday and televised nationally on ESPN2.
Fans will have a number of options to catch Thursday's semifinal game between Union and Ferris State.
On television, the game will be shown on ESPNU, which is channel 606 on digital cable and 1871 in high definition.
On the Internet, fans can view the game by going to espn3.com.
And on radio, the game will be aired on WVKZ 1240 AM as well as WABY 1160 AM.
Should the Dutchmen advance to the national championship game on Saturday, fans can watch the game on cable at 7 p.m. on channel 25 (ESPN2).
