Two men face child endangerment charges after a 3-year-old girl was left unattended on a bus for nearly three hours Monday.
State police in Schodack arrested the bus driver, Eric Ramm, 31, of Cohoes, and the bus monitor, Thomas Kottackal, 59, of Albany, according to a news release issued Tuesday.
The Northland Transportation-owned bus dropped several students off at Capital District Beginnings in Berlin at about 9 a.m. Monday, with the toddler still on board and unnoticed by Ramm and Kottackal, troopers said.
The bus was left in a Menands lot at 10 a.m., and when Kottackal returned to the bus at 12:45 p.m., he noticed the girl still strapped in her car seat.
She received medical treatment at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for mild dehydration.
Both Ramm and Kottackal were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and released on appearance tickets.
