Lacrosse: Wall scores nine to lead Shen

Shenhendehowa junior Kelly Wall scored her eighth and ninth goals in overtime after a big Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake comeback, and the Lady Plainsmen went on to post a 15-12 Suburban Council lacrosse win Saturday.

Wall connected for the tie-breaking goal with 13 seconds left in the first overtime. Wall and Kristen Connors padded Shenendehowa’s lead in the second extra session.

Wall added a pair of assists for an 11-point performance, which equalled the second-highest total in program history behind Tara Akstull’s record 12 set in 2004 against Columbia. Connors totaled three goals to help Shenendehowa (5-4, 6-4) prevail for the fourth time in five games.

Burnt Hills (6-4, 7-4) scored five unanswered goals inside the final two minutes of regulation to tie the contest at 12-12. Nicole Beardsley paced the Lady Spartans with four goals, and Jordyn Godfrey scored two of her three goals in the late second-half run.

Julia Lennon had her second consecutive four-goal game, and Shaker (8-1, 8-1) edged Niskayuna (7-2, 7-3) in a battle for first place in the Suburban Council North Division, 7-5.

Kayla Treanor had two goals for the Lady Silver Warriors, and Emily Ryan had a goal and an assist.

Freshman Cara Quimby led a balanced Guilderland offense with four goals and an assist, and the Lady Dutch overwhelmed Colonie, 20-4.

Morgan Hardt had three goals and an assist for Guilderland (10-0, 12-0), Mackenzie Cietel notched three goals, and Kendall Cietek had a goal and three assists. Kim Carr scored twice for Colonie.

Brianna Sirianni collected three goals and two assists, Emily Lange had three goals and one assist, and Emma Kern managed two goals and two helpers in Saratoga Springs’ 15-4 win at Ballston Spa.

Kassie Purcell had a hat trick for the Lady Scotties.

Sydney Shaw had two goals and an assist, and three teammates added a pair of goals as Bethlehem downed Columbia, 13-4.

Emily Conway, Abby Seymour and Megan Duffy all finished with two goals for the Lasy Eagles. Helena Masiello scored two Columbia goals.

Chloe Knapp, Emily White and Lydia Knapp combined for all 10 goals and four assists in Glens Falls’ 10-5 non-league win over Red Hook.


Brian Rogers clicked for four goals, and Shenendehowa limited Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to two goals in the second half in a 12-7 Suburban Council victory.

D.J. Edick had three goals, and Joe Romano contributed two goals and three assists for the Plainsmen (5-1, 6-4). Shenendehowa used a three-goal spurt to open up a 7-4, second-quarter lead.

Trevor Hiss had three goals and three assists, and Tom Kenneally also scored three goals for the Spartans. Burnt Hills (5-2, 8-2) saw its win streak halted at five games.

Cicero-North Syracuse beat Colonie, 11-5, and South Glens Falls blanked Maple Hill’s first-year varsity, 18-0, in non-league games.
