All northbound lanes of traffic have reopened on the Twin Bridges of the Adirondack Northway, the state Department of Transportation said this afternoon.
Because of continuing construction work on the Twin Bridges in Halfmoon, northbound traffic on the Adirondack Northway was closed between exits 7 (Latham) and 8 (Crescent Road) until late morning. One lane of traffic reopened shortly after noon.
The detour started at 4:23 a.m. today. Northbound traffic was rerouted at Exit 7 to Route 9, to Vischer Ferry Road and then to I-87 northbound. All three lanes of southbound traffic are open.
Over the weekend, traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions over the Twin Bridges to accomodate deck replacement work. Weekend construction work is expected to continue until Oct. 22, excluding Columbus Day Weekend.
