Matt Koziol and Vince Bennett scored in the second half to give Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute a 2

Matt Koziol and Vince Bennett scored in the second half to give Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute a 2-0 victory over Union College in Liberty League men’s soccer on Wednesday.

Koziol scored on a free kick in the 58th minute, and Bennett scored in the 76th.

Rob Dewald made six saves for the Rensselaer (7-3-1).

The Dutchmen fell to 7-3-0.

Sage improved to 3-1 in the conference and 3-6 overall, and Purchase fell to 3-1 and 5-5.

UTICA — Sophomore Louise Steele-Norton scored three goals to carry Utica past Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Rensselaer scored first, on a goal by Liana Viaggio, but Hannah Mackey, who also had two assists, tied it two minutes later.

Kierstan Ryan also scored for Rensselaer (1-1 Liberty League,

5-4 overall).

The Pioneers are 1-2 in the Empire 8 and 7-3 overall.
