Girls’ soccer: Burnt Hills 3, Saratoga Springs 0

Meghan Malone scored twice on assists from Morgan Burchhardt, leading Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake over

Meghan Malone scored twice on assists from Morgan Burchhardt, leading Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake over Saratoga Springs, 3-0. Julia Retell had the other goal as the 9-3-0 Spartans won their eighth straight.

Carley Slade made 10 saves for 6-5-1 Saratoga.

Katie Nichols recorded her 38th career shutout, leading Bethlehem past Averill Park, 1-0. Nickles, in her fifth year on the varsity, also has two shared shutouts, one with Kiersten Swete, who had 55 in her career.

Tara Teal provided the goal for the 8-3-1 Eagles.

Jess Capone scored twice and assisted on Guilderland’s other goal in a 3-1 win over Columbia. The Lady Dutch (8-3-1) remained a half-point ahead of Bethlehem inthe SC South.

Kate Essepian and Eva Torncello scored for Shaker in a 2-1 win over Ballston Spa. Morgan Zegers had the goal for the Scotties.

Megan Reese and Serena Cascarano both scored twice for Mohonasen in a 4-1 win over Col-onie. The Mighty Warriors (4-6-1) also got two assists from Samantha McGrath, and Saeeda Abdul-Aziz made three saves for the shutout.

Colonie got a goal from Emily Green.

Liisi Vink-Lainas scored on a Courtney Avery assist to give Troy a 1-0 Big 10 win over Schenectady.

Abby McAuley made 10 saves for Troy (2-4, 4-8). Schenectady (0-5 Big 10) got eight saves from Fatima Shamsuddin.

Big 10 leader Catholic Central went to 6-0-0, getting goals from Nora Ball, Rachel Ball, Madison Purcell and Alexis Riffelbach in a 4-1 win over 4-2-0 Albany.

Schalmont continued to roll through the Colonial Council, beating Fonda-Fultonville, 8-0. Diana DiCocco had five goals. Taylor Gould scored five goals for the 12-0-0 Lady Sabres, who have allowed only one goal this season.

Mikayla Gowett scored twice in Mechanicville’s 2-0 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, both goals assisted by Aubrey Zecca. The Red Raiders improved to 7-3-1 in the league, and Ravena fell to 3-8-1.

Voorheesville topped Watervliet, 7-0, with a pair of goals from both Chelsea Duncan and Sarah Murray, with Murray adding an assist.

Holy Names (1-9-1 Colonial) put a scare in Lansingburgh (7-3-1Colonial), but the Knights eked out a 1-0 win on Kaitlin Nadeau’s goal. Samantha Kingsley made two saves for the win, while Adrienne Genovese made nine saves for Holy Names.

Ichabod Crane went to 11-1-0 in the Colonial, as Mariela Jacome scored in a 1-0 win over Cohoes.

Albany Academy’s Valerie Taylor scored in the 76th minute to give her team a 2-1 win over Cobleskill-Richmondville. Emma Malicki also scored for Albany Academy (9-3 Colonial), and Anna Bryce made five saves. Cobleskill (6-5 Colonial) got a goal from Morgan Loder and 10 saves from Erica Tracy.

In the Patroon Conference, Maple Hill got goals from Sabrina Sepowski and Sarah Mertlik to beat Hudson, 2-0. Bella Nelson and Kayla Hanrahan had the assists for Maple Hill (5-6, 7-6). Hudson fell to 0-7, 0-7.

Talia Segal scored three goals to lead CHVL leader Emma Willard (9-0-1) to an 8-0 win over Rensselaer.
