South Glens Falls got a last-minute equalizer Tuesday from Luke VanDixhorn to draw, 1-1, with Foothills Council leader Scotia-Glenville in a boys’ soccer game.
Country Moran had put Scotia (8-0-1 Foothills Council, 12-0-1 overall) ahead 20 minutes into the game on a scramble in front of the net. VanDixhorn’s goal came with 40 seconds to play, from the top of the penalty area, assisted by Kyle Ogden.
The Bulldogs (6-2-2 Foothills) dropped their first meeting with the Tartans, 2-0.
Scotia will next face Broadalbin-Perth, an 8-0 winner over Glens Falls, in Scotia on Friday.
Tucker Wilcox scored four goals and assisted on another for Broadalbin-Perth (8-1-1, 10-2-2), while Ben Bellandi added a goal and two assists. Pat Brown made two saves in the win.
Gabe Alanga made six saves for Glens Falls (1-8, 3-10).
Kade Kirby scored twice and assisted on a goal as Queensbury beat Johnstown, 5-0. The Spartans (5-5, 6-8) also got a pair of assists from Preston Hendrick. Johnstown (1-8 Foothills) got 10 saves from Andy Camara.
Sophomore Michael Law scored a second-half goal as Niskayuna edged Shenendehowa, 1-0, in the Suburban Council.
The win pulled 8-2-1 Niskayuna within two points of SC North-leading Shenendehowa, which fell to 8-2-1.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake got three goals from Luke Cameron to run away from Saratoga Springs, 7-0.
Matt Nocito added two scores for the Spartans (4-6-2 Suburban), and Kurtis Souza made two saves. Ryan Pfeifer made two saves for Saratoga (0-10-1).
Connor Rubin scored the game’s only goal as Guilderland (8-1-2, 7-0-2 its last nine) edged Columbia, 1-0. Kedrick Weeden made three saves for the shutout. Evan Forbes made seven stops for 2-7-2 Columbia.
Colonie beat Mohonasen, 2-0, with goals from Luke Fowler and Uyi Omorogbe, Fowler adding an assist. Colonie (4-6-2) got nine saves from the duo of Mike McKay and Nick Maio. Mohonasen (4-7-1) got six saves from Alec Volans.
Connor Defillipis and Ian Mahserjian scored for Ballston Spa in a 2-1 win over Shaker. The Scotties (4-6-2, 3-1-1 last five) got assists from James Piombino and Bryce Recer. Shaker (5-6-1) got on the board in the second half when Guus Reefman tallied.
Bethlehem, the only unbeaten team in the SC, went to 10-0-2, using a goal from Matt Henning to beat Averill Park, 1-0. Alex Kessler stopped the only shot he faced in the win. The Eagles host Guilderland on Saturday.
Troy’s Akrum Mezza scored three times in a 4-0 Big 10 win over Schenectady. Rafik Mekhaldi assisted on all three, and Will Valle scored the fourth goal for Troy, the Big 10 leader at 7-1-1. Josh Rasmussen made six saves in the win.
Andrew Cyr made eight saves for Schenectady (3-3-3 Big 10).
Christian Brothers Academy improved to 5-3-1 in the Big 10 with a 3-0 win over Amsterdam, getting goals from Michael Wasilchuk, Michael Merecki and Nick O’Brien, O’Brien adding an assist. Amsterdam fell to 3-4-1 in the league.
Tyler Stempsey scored twice to lead Albany past Catholic Central, 3-0. Ram Gautam also scored for Albany (6-0-2 Big 10), and Govinda Subedi assisted on two goals. Robert Jones made 20 saves for Cath-olic Central (0-10 Big 10).
Schalmont improved to 8-1-1 in the Colonial Council with a 6-0 win over Fonda-Fultonville, getting three goals from Gino Rossi and two assists apiece from Joe Caldara and Devin Murphy. Fonda dropped to 2-8 in the Colonial.
Eight players scored for Albany Academy (9-0 Colonial) in an 8-1 win over Cobleskill-Richmondville. Jordan Newton, John Moutopoulos, Dami Osofisan, Jordan Lockridge, Matt Falvey, Rob McCormick, Peter Campito and Michael DeVito all scored for the Cadets, who visit Schalmont on Thursday.
Billy Sawyer scored for Cobleskill (1-8 Colonial).
Lansingburgh (3-4-1 Colonial) and Voorheesville fought to a 1-1 draw, Lansingburgh getting a goal from Brandon Bombard and Voorheesville from Dylan Hensel. Lansinburgh’s Parker Bristol made seven saves, while Scott Warren made eight saves for the Blackbirds (5-3-1 Colonial).
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk got past Mechanicville, 2-1, with goals from John Alverson and Vincent Grecco in the second half. Tyler Thompson made nine saves for Ravena (2-7-1 Colonial).
Mechanicville (3-6-1 Colonial) got a goal from Nick Vermilyea and seven saves from Caleb Foard.
The top two teams in the Central Hudson Valley League remained unbeaten as Loudonville Christian (6-0-4) and Berlin (6-0-2) played to a scoreless draw for the second time this season.
Andrew Rollis made six saves for Loudonville Christian, and Mike Reger made 10 saves for Berlin.
Waterford-Halfmoon beat Heatly, 4-0, with two goals from Quintin Cahrenger. Matt Rebel made five saves for the Fordians (3-4-1, 3-7-1), and Kevin Greene made five stops for Heatly.
New Lebanon topped Doane Stuart, 4-0, with goals from Austin Belk, Justin Bingham, Joe Finley and Zack Krajkowski. New Lebanon is now 5-3-1 in the CHVL and Doane Stuart is 2-5-2.
In a non-leaguer, Galway’s Josh Bailey led the way to a 4-3 win over Greenwich, scoring three goals. The 9-1-0 Eagles trailed, 3-2, six minutes into the second half, but came back to win. Kyle Moffat had Galway’s other goal.
The Witches got goals from Nate Passino, Elliot Hansen and Colin Oswald.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo beat Cambridge, 4-2, with two goals from Travis Fairlee in another non-league game. Thomas Payne and Nick Nagengast also scored for BKW, and Cambridge’s Buster Baker-Porazinski found the net twice in the second half.
