GOP: Don’t confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up
Joe Biden is a genius. While the two parties are trying to woo the elusive independent vote, he’s going after the Republican vote.
He realized that Republican Fox viewers love the confrontational (Rush Limbaugh) and interrupt the speaker (Bill O’Reilly) styles that he (Biden) employed during the vice presidential debate.
My only criticism is he peppered the debate with too many facts. Republicans don’t concern themselves with facts. They want to hear opinions.
Tune in to Fox shows and count how many times you hear “in my opinion” (Special Report with Brett Baier).

Saratoga gov’t is doing just fine; vote ‘no’ on proposed charter
The proposed charter change for our city [Saratoga] is ridiculous. It is totally undemocratic, in that the chief executive officer of the city will be unelected. He or she will be appointed by a group of elected councilmen. This is similar, at the state level, to the New York [state] Legislature appointing a governor or, at the federal level, to the House of Representatives and Senate appointing a president.
Do we really want to replace our transparent and highly successful commission form of government with this folly? Of course not.
Remember, under our current government, our city has won numerous national awards for livability and our vibrant, business-friendly downtown. Our tax rate is one of the lowest in the state. Why tinker with success? Why needlessly experiment with an undemocratic government structure that will cost significantly more and, at the same time, result in a degradation of services.
Please do not let our city be hijacked by an agenda-driven, misguided group who are pushing for a much less effective and more bloated form of government.
Vote no on charter change. You and your wallet will be glad you did.
