Three University at Albany students were arrested early this morning for allegedly serving alcohol to minors at party on Hamilton Street.

Police received a call from a resident complaining of noise at 471 Hamilton St. When officers arrived at about 12:20 a.m., they saw about 25 people drinking alcohol and causing a loud commotion.

During the course of their investigation, officers determined that five people under the age of 21 were served alcohol.

The hosts of the party — 22-year-old Earnest Waters, 21-year-old Dejon Washington and 22-year-old Jonathan Santana — were all arrested at the scene. They were each charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor, a misdemeanor, and were ticketed for unnecessary and unusual noise under the city ordinances.

Police spokesman Stephen A. Smith said he doesn’t know what prompted the party.

One of the partygoers, 20-year-old Arriel Howard of Queens, allegedly fought with officers while they were conducting their investigation. She gave an officer a false name and then began to swing her fist at the officers several times, according to Smith.

She was charged with misdemeanors of obstruction of governmental administration, false personation and resisting arrest.

All four were arraigned this morning in the Albany City Criminal Court.
