Although Hurricane Sandy has moved on, public transportation into and out of New York City is still at a standstill.
Amtrak is removing water and making repairs to track, signal and power systems within its tunnels under the Hudson and East rivers. The date of restoration of train service to and from New York Penn Station is not known at this time.
Greyhound has suspended service from Albany to New York City and there is no word on when it will be available again.
Starting this afternoon, Albany Airport will have flights into Newark, NJ, according to airport spokesman Doug Myers. The airport does not offer flights to LaGuardia Airport or JFK International Airport.
Wade Tours has cancelled its bus tour to Manhattan Saturday, but the bus company still plans to hold its trip to Boston on that day. Sunday’s bus trip to Stormville is still on schedule.
