Shenendehowa Center will hold fashion show
CLIFTON PARK — The Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, has scheduled the following programs:
-- The center will hold its 17th annual fashion show and luncheon at noon on Sunday at the Vista Restaurant in Clifton Park. Sponsored by CDPHP, the event will feature fashions from Bon Ton of Wilton, a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, cash bar and meal of your choice.
This event is open to the public and tickets are $25 per person. They can be purchased at the center.
-- Kane Pigliavento from Care Improvement Plus will discuss healthy eating options during the holidays at 1 p.m. Wednesday. There will also be a raffle and refreshments.
-- A seminar titled “Benefits for Veterans” will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Retired Commander Marty Torrey (U.S. Navy) and Neil Weiner, both of Veterans Advantage LLC, will talk about the rights and benefits offered to veterans by the government.
Topics will include the VA caseload, options in gaining benefits, changes to the laws allowing for local assistance to widows and widowers of veterans and more. Sign-up is recommended.
-- The Shenendehowa Adult Community Center Orchestra will hold a concert at 1 p.m. Friday.
-- A murder mystery show, “Mountain Moonshine Mystery,” will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The show will include a dinner choice of roast turkey or lasagna. Tickets are $38 for nonmembers and $35 for members. Tickets may be purchased at the center.

Open house today at Saratoga Center
SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Senior Citizens Center of Saratoga Springs, 5 Williams St., will hold an open house sponsored by CDPHP from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
The day will feature classes, tours and presentations as well as tastings of Ben & Jerry’s and Stewart’s ice cream. There will also be informational presentations throughout the day by the Alzheimer’s Association, the Arthritis Foundation and the Office for the Aging. Visitors will also be able to talk to instructors, staff and current members.

KAPL retirees club to meet on Nov. 13
GLENVILLE — Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory Retirement Club will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Waters Edge Lighthouse, 2 Freeman’s Bridge Road.
John Robinson, a motivational and inspirational speaker, will present “Our Ability.” He will talk about ways to overcome obstacles in life, in business and in sales.
The club is open to all KAPL retirees and their spouses. Those who are attending for the first time should call Marianne Hogle at 393-8907 to make a reservation. The deadline for reservations is Thursday.
Halfmoon Center sets holiday bazaar
HALFMOON — The Halfmoon Senior Center, Lower Newtown Road, has scheduled the following activities:
-- The holiday bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Hundreds of handmade craft items and baked goods will be on sale.
-- The Advisory Council will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
-- The business meeting will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
-- Bev McBride will teach how to make a rainbow scarf at 10 a.m. Thursday. Participants need to have basic knitting skills, size 9 wooden knitting needles, and one skein of Sashay or Starbella yarn.
There is no fee and no need to sign up.
-- A card-stamping class will be held at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday. Participants will create three cards. All supplies will be provided. The cost is $2, which is due at sign-up.

Guilderland group offering balance class
GUILDERLAND — The Town of Guilderland Senior Services, Town Hall, Route 20, will offer an eight-session “Fall Balance Class” from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays, beginning this Thursday through Jan. 3 (no class on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22).
The cost is $12.
