Dani DeGregory and Kelly Blackhurst each notched a pair of goals to lift Skidmore to a 6-0 victory over UMass-Dartmouth in the first round of the NCAA Division III field hockey tournament Wednesday at Wagner Park.

The 14-5 Thoroughbreds travel to top-seeded Middlebury for an 11 a.m. matchup Saturday. The teams met earlier this season, with the Panthers picking up a 2-1 victory.

Blackhurst’s pair of goals and an assist moved her into second place on the team’s all-time scoring list with 72 goals and 39 assists for 183 points.

Ceilidh MacNeill and Sam Skott also scored for Skidmore, and goalkeeper Haley McDougall made six saves.

UMass-Dartmouth dropped to 17-6.

Elmira ousts Sage

ELMIRA — The Golden Eagles posted a 3-1 win over Sage in the ECAC Division III quarterfinals, 25-14, 25-14, 16-25, 25-21.

Elmira (22-12) advances to the semifinals on Saturday.

Sophomore hitter Helen Put­riment (Troy/Cobleskill-Richmondville) had 11 kills and 20 digs for Sage (20-13). She moved into sole possession of seventh place for career kills with 686.

Junior setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake/Shenendehowa) had 24 assists.

QUEENSBURY — Andy Irizarry poured in 18 points, and Khaleeq Baum chipped in with 11 to help the Raiders defeat the Timberwolves Tuesday night.

QUEENSBURY — Takima Lucky’s 29 points and Cheryl Osborne’s 14 rebounds carried the Raiders over the Timberwolves Tuesday.

Kassandra Flowers added 18 points for the Raiders.

Kara Teci scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebound for ACC.
