State police in Cobleskill, working with the Schoharie County District Attorney's Office, arrested three people on drug charges after executing a search warrant at a home of Route 165 to complete a month-long investigation.

Troopers said they seized a pound and a half of processed marijuana and a small amount of MDMA — the designer drug popularly known as Ecstasy — from the residence and arrested Zachary R. Lushkevich, 24, Catherine I. Lushkevich, 39, and Katarina A. Lushkevich, 20.

Zachary Lushkevich was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors. Catherine Lushkevich was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and Katarina Lushkevich was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. All three were released on tickets to appear Wednesday in Seward Town Court.

Troopers said they also discovered a gutted, untagged deer hanging from the rafters of an outbuilding on the property. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Officer Michael Terrell responded to the scene and noted several Environmental Conservation Law violations, troopers said. His investigation is continuing.
