A Glenville man has been arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly entering a bathroom stall being used by a 12-year-old and asking the child “let me look,” state police said today.
Scott A. Phillips, 51, of 1012 Cherokee Road was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child earlier this month.
Phillips was allegedly at the Sportsplex of Halfmoon on Corporate Drive in Halfmoon when he peered into an enclosed bathroom stall where a 12-year-old child was using the toilet, state police said.
Phillips unlocked the stall door lock, opened the door, entered the stall, and closed the door behind him, police said. The child pulled up his pants at which point Phillips told the child “wait, stop, let me look.” The boy managed to exit the stall without any interference from Phillips.
Phillips is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, medium build, with grayish brown hair and brown eyes.
State police are requesting that anyone who has information pertaining to this or any similar incidents contact Investigator Kevin Noto at the State Police Clifton Park Station at 383-8583.
Phillips was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court but the case has been transferred to Halfmoon Town Court. Phillips was arrested Nov. 3, taken to Saratoga County Jail, and released on bail Nov. 4.
