A puppy whose leg had been sawed off by an abuser has been fitted with a prosthetic limb.

A puppy whose leg had been sawed off by an abuser has been fitted with a prosthetic limb.

A 3-month-old pit bull mix named Hudson got the device on Monday at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

Hudson was one of three siblings found abused and abandoned in Albany in September. The dog lost its limb after it was beaten and nailed to a railroad track. One of the puppies died from its injuries, but Hudson and Pearl -- the other survivor -- pulled through.

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is running an essay contest for those wishing to adopt the puppies. Entries closed Monday night.

A $7,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who mutilated and abandoned the puppies.
