A city man is accused of chasing a woman around a table with a knife and refusing to let her leave, authorities said.
Jario A. Prieto-Barios, 36, of Orchard Street, is accused of pursuing the woman with an 8-inch kitchen knife Tuesday afternoon at his residence, keeping her from leaving the apartment, according to papers filed in court.
The woman ultimately escaped his direct presence by barricading herself in the bathroom and calling police, according to papers.
Prieto-Barios is charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
He also faces charges in an April incident in which he is accused of threatening another woman with a knife, according to papers. He faces one count each of second degree menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breathing in that case.
