Traffic stop leads to drug charges

An Edinburg woman is facing drug charges stemming from a traffic stop Friday in Gloversville.

An Edinburg woman is facing drug charges stemming from a traffic stop Friday in Gloversville.

Kassandra Vannostrand, 21, was charged with second- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic needle, second-degree harassment and traffi c violations, according to a news release.

Police allege Vannostrand fought with officers during the arrest, slapping one in the face and kicking another in the face.

Police said a search of Vannostrand’s vehicle turned up small glass jars with cocaine and 41.3 grams of psychedelic mushrooms.

Vannostrand was arraigned and sent to the Fulton County jail without bail.
