Tedisco needs to stop talking and start doing

Re Nov. 9 AP article, “Thruway Authority delays toll-hike vote”: Recently the news has been cluttered with stories about the Thruway Authority and the possibility of a toll hike for truckers.

The problem I have with these stories is the abundance of quotes from Assemblyman James Tedisco about the “authority got caught with its hand in the cookie jar.”

Once again we are hearing our long-term assemblyman talking about issues, complaining about a problem in the system. But, I have to ask, what is he doing about it?

This is one of many reasons why I ran against Mr. Tedisco; I wanted to find solutions to problems, not just complain about them to anyone who would listen.

The writer, a Democrat, ran unsuccessfully against Tedisco in the redrawn 112th Assembly District.

Is there a cover-up on actual votes cast in election?

I know every vote counts and you encourage even stupid, uninformed people to vote (or make it easier for them to vote), but what I am most distressed about is: I voted and it looks like my vote did not count. I wish I could say I saw spotty coverage of election results, but I could find no coverage of election results in local media, at least as far as actual vote counts were concerned.

Besides leading to cynicism, this leads to rumors that there is fraud involved. Did Obama get 100 percent of the votes in the town of Charlton? I’ll never know because I have no idea what the vote was! I cannot wait for early voting to be legalized in New York. Then we will have made a total mockery out of the voting process.

Good luck, New York. And goodbye. As of Nov. 7, I am closing my business.
