Lindsey Lowrie hit five of nine three-pointers and finished with 17 points Sunday to lead the University at Albany women’s basketball team to a 68-54 non-conference victory over Western Michigan at University Arena.

The Great Danes (2-1) went on a 13-6 run to open the second half and take a 40-33 lead, and event­ually opened up a 13-point lead. Thee closest the Broncos got after that was eight points.

Meghan Craig chipped in with 13 points for the Danes, and Julie Forster had nine points and seven rebounds.

“We got in foul trouble early and had players like [Shereesha] Richards and [Keyana] Williams step up,” said UAlbany coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. “I was proud of how well we came together for a strong second halg.”

The Danes return to action Wednesday, playing at Michigan State.
