University at Albany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson’s return to her old stomping grounds was less than inspiring.

Abrahamson-Henderson, who was the associate head coach for the Spartans from 2000 to 2002, couldn’t get much offense from her current team as the Great Danes were crushed by the Michigan State Spartans, 67-35, in a non-conference women’s basketball game at the Breslin Center Wednesday night.

Michigan State (4-0), which entered the contest allowing only 39 points per game, held UAlbany to just nine points in the second half. The Great Danes shot only 25.9 percent from the floor and were outrebounded, 45-32.

Klarissa Bell led the Spartans with 19 points. Jasmine Hines netted 14 points, and Annalise Pickrel and Jasmine Thomas added 11 points each.

It was the first meeting between the two programs.

For 2-2 UAlbany, 6-foot-8 sophomore center Megan Craig scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Julie Forster contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds.

UAlbany hosts Dartmouth Saturday at 2.
